… and what is ‘it’?
Often a challenge for a company has a fuzzy front end: putting a hard specification on just what the challenge is, can be a challenge in itself. The issue can be masked by several layers of complexity, as exemplified by these three pictures from a sandy beach. In all three cases the natural ripples in the sand have been created by water movement, then something has happened to them.

In the first picture it is easy to see the bird tracks. In the second, the ripples in the sand are punctuated by worm castes, which have then been changed by a feeding winkle.
